15 Jul Permanent Contemporary: Nature
While we look for the source of our dissatisfaction with life in many different points; this state of dissatisfaction that affects our daily lives is based on something very fundamental, the disruptions in the relationship between nature and human beings. The nature-human relationship, which is perhaps the oldest art problematic in history, is put back on the table with Open Studio’s ‘Permanent Contemporary: Nature’ project of Open Studio. Within the scope of the project, which includes four different performances and three different workshops to be realised in line with the idea of sustainable life, two artists from Europe and eight from Turkey came together at K2 Urla Breathing Zone. While some of the contents, all of which point to the relationship between human and nature, were specially designed on site, others were reinterpreted in a site-sensitive manner. In addition to the designs and performances of Serenay Oğuz, Umut Sevgül, Metehan Kayan, Sarp Keskiner, the works of Aslı Bostancı and Fatih Gençkal, Gaby Koch, Felix Bürkle, Bahar Nihal Ersözlü and Süha Ertekin were also presented to the audience. Permanent Update, which took place on 15 July-01 August 2019 with its comprehensive programme for different age groups: Nature, with its comprehensive programme for different age groups, gave the message that the human-nature relationship is still relevant today and will continue to be relevant in the future.
The project was supported by the micro-financing of Space for Culture.
