TRIP

My path(s) with the wolves crossed at their first stopover in TRIP, which they have been on for a while. While observing the wolves’ experiences in TRIP/ witnessing their changes day by day in Ahmet Müderrisoğlu’s hands, the whole process reminded me of the story of the cult road film Easy Rider from 1960. Wim Wenders explained the scenario in the road film as follows: ‘There is no script, only a one-page synopsis. The road travelled is a script in itself. The script is thus written along the way, often changing’.

In the timeless, unplanned journeys of the wolves, the script is written on the road. Other people, stories, emotions, associations, interactions on the road direct their path. The rugged roads that the wolves sometimes deviate from, and the experiences they bring/wear on their bodies from the unknown, give some clues about this TRIP. What happens on the road does not stay on the road; it appears as a trace, an attachment on the bodies of the wolves.

The wheels that connect their slender bodies lying in the horizontal plane to the road give the wolves a space for movement and give them an aerodynamic structure. The wheels mobilise the wolves just as today’s mobile technology mobilises lives.

The paths of the city dwellers who flee the city and long for a nomadic life again, and the wolves fleeing from the city are open to intersection.

Just like today.
