15 Mar IZMIR MEDITERRANEAN BIENNIAL “LOOKING AT THE SAME WATER”

The Izmir Mediterranean Biennial (IMB), organized in collaboration with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and K2 Contemporary Art Center, took place between September 11, 2023, and March 11, 2024. As part of the IMB Artist-in-Residence Program, participants were hosted in four groups at the K2 Urla Breathing Zone between September 11 and October 22, 2023, producing works for the Biennial. Additionally, during the program, they engaged with the audience through “Artist Presentations” events.

The Biennial exhibition, opened on January 23 with the theme “Looking at the Same Water” and featured works by 31 young artists from 16 countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. The Biennial exhibition, visited by approximately 25,000 visitors at the Atlas Pavilion Art Gallery, ran until March 11. Within the framework of the Biennial, 3 panels, 2 discussions, and a concert were organized.
