My Life in English Measures

“My Life in English Measures” transforms the adventure of a book into an exhibition that the viewer can also experience. This exhibition at K2 Contemporary Art Center is an extension of the artist’s (Ceren Bulut) projects during her post-doctoral research at Central Saint Martins in London. “My Life in English Measures” is, as the title suggests, about units of measurement, combined with a personal story of how different cultural codes define, transform and change the artist. The artist conveys the changes that seep into her daily life while living in a different culture to the viewer with a somewhat metaphorical fiction. This book, which she created in London, is now presented to the audience in Izmir in the form of an exhibition. The exhibition, which takes a different look at the approaches (discussions) that frequently occupy today’s art and design environment, such as the book as a work and the exhibition as a visual communication platform, can be seen at K2 Contemporary Art Center between 04-30 November 2015.
