22 Feb Wooden Stories
“Wooden Stories” is a cultural project produced by NomadMind (Izmir, Turkey) and Baserriko Arte Sarea (Helette, France) in partnership with France-Turkey, with the support of Tandem Turkey Program. The year-long project, which started in August 2016, focuses on this nomadic culture through the Tahtacı people in the Kemalpaşa region.
Within the scope of the study, Tahtacıism is not only a profession, but also a way of understanding everyday life with the many sensitivities that this profession brings with it. On the other hand, it is read as a rich culture layered with the influence of a deep-rooted and multi-geographical history.
The exhibition will include the outputs of this multidisciplinary work and reflections on the process. In the conversation, discussions on the production process of a multi-geographical cultural project are envisaged.
